Explosiveness = lose strength?

Postby Putt_Punjabi » Fri Dec 11, 2009 1:00 am

Hello there healthy people :),

Please help me out with couple of questions that have been bothering me for a while.

I have recently started to do alot of cardio and explosive excersises. Will this effect my 1 RM?

Will doing running and explosive squats increase or decrease my squat?

And

Do clapping Pushup's and regular pushups increase bench press? If so, how often should one do them?

Thank you,

PP

Welcome back Putt,

this is the site, it is just faster and there are fewer bugs

Explosive training will do just that, increase explosiveness. It will not add to 1RMs, to increase 1RMs you will have to train for that.

It should not necessarily decrease your 1RM, it all depends on what you want to do.

If your goal is a bigger 1RM then doing tonnes of explosive training won't necessarily help to increase that

but if you want a bigger vertical then it will
